Plushy Fest Returns!

 plushyfest 2015

2014 was an incredible year for live music events in the Gauteng area, and in the spirit of giving back, many new charity events were brought to life, including #plushyfest, an event created by events team, Hybrid Entertainment SA.

The event launched on Saturday 4th October 2014, with a full day of live band entertainment at Wolmer Bush Lounge in Pretoria, including Wysdiman, Climate Control, Burning Blue and Satanic Dagga Orgy, to name but a few. Artists and patrons joined forces to assist in raising collections of plush toys, clothing, blankets and more for Gauteng Children’s Homes, namely Jacaranda Children’s Home in Pretoria and Johannesburg Children’s Home in Johannesburg.

This year will mark the second year for Plushy Fest, to be held in Johannesburg at Smugglers Pub on Saturday 5th September 2015, in aid of the very same charities, with the same aim to collect as much as possible for the children in need. “I feel very passionate about this event and the cause behind it, and I’m very taken back by all the support and willingness of all involved, from the volunteers, to the bands and of course the sponsors”, commented Michelle Rieder, co-owner of Hybrid Entertainment owner and event originator.  “Jack Rahme of HitMusic is kindly assisting us by hosting this year, bringing his events expertise to the occasion.  I’m very pleased to have him on board, as I simply did not have the capacity to run with this event this year, but saw no valid reason to cancel it. It’s got to go on, and bigger and better than last year. I’m confident it will be, and very grateful. Special thanks must also be given to RockNet OnIine Rock Radio for their support of the event. ”, said Rieder.
