It’s been a dynamic year for Berlin-based musical show-stoppers, Riders Connection since their last visit to South Africa. Following their album launch tour in Germany, the trio are returning to blow South African audiences’ minds once again with their musical mix of reggae, soul and folky blues – a kind of sound that simply isn’t done justice with just a few descriptive words. They are returning on Friday, 27 November and will be kicking their tour into gear at La Cabane in Hout Bay, Cape Town.

Their impressive live performances speak for itself and they are able to quickly induce a state of pure euphoria among their audiences. During one of their previous performances on SA’s eastern coast, they very nearly brought down the house as the crowd literally danced the floor away.

Riders Connection prove themselves to be much more than just awesome musicians. Through their philanthropic activities and embracing a work ethic of collectivism and social upliftment, they took part in the Playing For Change Tour last year with local music gems, Sons of Settlers. The tour enabled them to share their music with people who may otherwise not have had the opportunity to experience a live show.

This year Riders Connection will be spreading the good-will again at a Charity Concert on the 1st of December at the Big Bay Lifesaving Club. The concert is in aid of SPLASH! Make a Difference, a program that takes less fortunate children that would otherwise never have the opportunity to learn to swim and teaches them water safety, swimming skills and builds their self-confidence. The aim of the program is to reduce the number of drownings and give children from less advantaged areas the chance to learn a new skill and learn to love the water.

More about Riders Connection and their New Album:

riders connection colour meSupporting the release of their debut album, "Colour Me", Riders Connection, are heading out on tour across Germany this month followed by a summer-lovin’ tour all along the sunny South African coast in December and January.

Riders Connection, have created a debut album that advances on the sound that they are known for. Their unique blend of reggae, soul and folky blues, and the inventive arrangement of funky beats created by the ingenious talent of member Mortiz, who produces all the drum sounds with his mouth, and the floor-filling beats with groovy baselines from singer and guitarist Philipp. They have incorporated their love for Latin, Hip-Hop and electronic music, producing 10-tracks of flawless, original music, forming a new fun and up-tempo album that has the subtle touch of salsa-hip swaying vibes, which they toured in October across Germany.

Colour is the theme for the album, using different colours to express emotion and a symbol of freedom. Colour Me, shows off the 2 sides of the band, a soft emotional side that is more serious and emotional, and a playful summer side that is more easy going and positive, this is a representation of different colours and how they can be connected to different styles of music and what influences the band.

Watching Riders Connection perform live is a show stopper to say the least, with a subtle injection of humour, and sing along-able choruses, boosted with sweat and a unified experience, you can be sure to leave after their concert smiling, still singing-along to their songs and wanting to continue dancing the night away.
