On Saturday, 29 September the mammoth Krank'd Up music festival skilfully delivered another annual dose of blistering rock, punk and metal to the devoted audience amassed at the Sundowners (Alberton). A whopping 19 top local bands duly wowed and entertained the crowd in preparation for American Metalcore Masters Miss May I and British Progressive Tech Pioneers SikTh. As usual, the Turning Tricks entertainment Maestros (Duncan Bell and Wayne Boucher) exceeded all expectations and delivered with sheer delight! The sound was again on top form and the stage impressive as always, with cutting-edge lighting and video-backdrops delivering stunning eye candy (that even impressed the seasoned international headliners). The merchandise tent had everyone in a buying frenzy on top of Monster Energy delivering gratis liquid potency all day long. The one thing hotter than the temperature and the line-up was the HellFire Cinnamon Whiskey Liqueur (another proudly SA creation)! Krank’d Up Festival simply keeps getting better and better and this year again raised the bar – well done!
Special thanks to Duncan Bell and Wayne Boucher from Turning Tricks Entertainment as well as Warren Gibson from Plug Music Agency. Special shout outs to Mike Pocock, Chris Preyser, all the local-and-international bands and my fellow Music Photographers in the pit!
