American Authors To Headline At The 2024 Splashy Fen Music Festival

The hit-making American Rock Band, among others, are headed for South Africa and will be rocking fans at this year’s Splashy Fen.

December saw the launch of Splashy Fen’s Phase One acts, a selection of local and international acts set to light up the Main Stage across the 4-day music and lifestyle festival from the 28th of March to the 1st of April 2024. Now, in the second batch of artist announcements, festival organisers are super excited to announce that American Authors, best known for their chart-topping song ‘Best Day Of My Life’, which charted #1 across SA.

 One thing is clear… fans are in for a musical treat.

Since its inception in 1990, Splashy Fen Music Festival has offered festival goers the best selection of music from a range of local and diverse South African artists as well as a curated selection of international acts, who travel from far and wide to perform at the unforgettable foothills of the Drakensberg mountains. While the festival’s early focus was folk and light rock, today sees the inclusion of African music styles, light rock, pop, and electro – offering something special for every single fan.

The festival has confirmed its first 7 acts who will perform on the Main Stage over the Easter long weekend, and festival organiser Stu Berry believes it is a line-up not to be missed. “We’ll be bringing back some of the firm favourites again this year,” says Berry. “Artists who brought the magic at last year’s festival and made a great impression on the fans. We’ll also be seeing favourites like South Africa’s very own Parlotones, who fans would not have heard from in a long time! We like to mix up the music offering, making sure everyone enjoys every moment of the festival.”

The main stage line-up mixes current South African favourites like the eclectic Hot Water, Rubber DUC, Tanner Wareham, and a special performance by The Parlotones. The festival will also host 6 international acts to complement the selection of top South Africa’s acts. These include The Dreggs from Australia, Casey Lowry from the United Kingdom, Nordista Freeze and Felipe Baldomir. Already, we’re excited for Zimbabwe’s Black Mamba Man, Jozi’s 4am and Durban’s Veranda Panda… and global favourites the Ndlovu Youth Choir... to name a few.

About American Authors

American Authors (formerly known as The Blue Pages) is an American rock band originally from Boston, now based in New York City, signed to Island Records. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Zac Barnett, bassist Dave Rublin, and drummer Matt Sanchez. Former member include guitarist and banjoist James Adam Shelley.
They are best known for their hit singles 'Believer' and 'Best Day of My Life', from their debut album, Oh, What a Life, as well as their top 20 hit 'Go Big or Go Home,' from their second album, What We Live For.
