After more than two decades of shaping Finland’s industrial metal scene, Ruoska is back with their sixth studio album, Kade, set to release on February 27. Ahead of the album launch, the band has unveiled the final single, Ikirouta, a track that promises to hit fans hard with its dark and chilling atmosphere.
'Ikirouta' is a slow-burning, heavy track that grips listeners from the first note. Described by the band as a sonic experience that "bites into your bones like a freezing winter wind," the song blends distorted guitars with orchestral arrangements in a way that is both unexpected and haunting. Audience reactions during recent gigs revealed that Ruoska fans have a strong appetite for heavier, slower tracks—feedback that even surprised the band, as Ikirouta pushes the boundaries of their traditional sound.
Originating from Juva, Eastern Finland, Ruoska has amassed nearly 25 million Spotify streams, proving the band’s enduring appeal. With Kade, they continue to evolve their sound while maintaining the bleak, powerful tone their fans have come to expect.
Following the album release, Ruoska will embark on a tour to bring Kade live to audiences around Finland and beyond, showcasing their signature mix of industrial aggression and melodic nuance.
Ruoska line-up:
- Patrik Mennander – Vocals
- Samuli Rimmi – Guitar, Backing Vocals
