When asked about the album, singer/songwriter Marc Skarda said, "This album is something we have all worked on and are so excited to share with all of you. It has been hard work but the journey has definitely been incredible."
Bioluminescence is brought across as an album filled with hope and light and I couldn't agree more especially when you hear lyrics like, "Fly higher than the things that bring you down." Which are present in one of their album's songs, 'Firefly'.
This album consists of a mix of country rock and pop, with a major modern twist on the sound. The music is full of heart and soul and combines amazing vocals and awesome riffs to create a harmonious tune that will have you singing along right from the beginning.
There are 11 songs in the album, all of which talk about hope, forgiveness and overcoming obstacles. Bioluminescence seems to convince you that no matter what you go through that you are stronger and more able than you think you are, which really comes through in their lyrics and underlying optimism which flows through their sound.
This album has been written with words and notes that are somehow able to inspire and motivate even the most burdened heart. So if you're feeling a little down in the dumps, broken-hearted or are on the verge of giving up... take some time and play this album, it will have you smiling in no time at all!
