Johannesburg, 3 July 2024: In response to the South African Department of Basic Education's recent announcement that coding and robotics will become mandatory subjects for grades R–9 starting next year, Singularity South Africa is addressing the evolving landscape of education in Africa. The upcoming summit, scheduled for October 21-22, 2024, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, in partnership with Old Mutual, will feature new speakers focusing on this transformative initiative. With an expected attendance of over 1,500 delegates, the summit will emphasize both adult and youth education.
Taddy Blecher, founder and CEO of the Maharishi Invincibility Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing private education to underprivileged youth, will discuss the future of education and its impact on economic growth.

A leader in robotics education, Rajesh Pasungili, CEO of Resolute Education, will conduct a robotics workshop showcasing the latest advancements in this dynamic field.
Jos Dirkx, founder of Beenova AI and advisor to global educational institutions, will explore the intersection of education and AI, highlighting the potential of AI tutors, adaptive learning, and automated feedback systems.
Vivian Lan, co-founder of Uma School, known for its innovative Montessori-based education, will present on empowering individuals through education as a transformative life tool.
These speakers join distinguished figures such as Professor Benjamin Rosman and Dr. Mark Nasila, who will address the African AI renaissance at the 2024 Singularity Summit, renowned for its comprehensive corporate education offerings.
Now in its sixth year, the summit will introduce a dedicated metaverse track, allowing remote participants to engage fully via the Africarare metaverse. To ensure broad accessibility, Singularity will offer bursary tickets for learners across Africa to attend the Metaverse summit free of charge.

Ticket prices are R 16,500 for in-person attendance and R 4,000 for the metaverse experience, with a 22% discount available until midnight on August 15. Standard tickets thereafter will be R 18,500 per person, inclusive of VAT.
