M-Theory Audio Welcomes Endless Chain
M-Theory Audio founder Marco Barbieri admits that ENDLESS CHAIN are a signing he wishes had happened sooner.
“There’s only a couple instances I regretted passing on a band’s submission, and ENDLESS CHAIN is one,” Barbieri says. He recalls considering the band’s 2024 album, Agony, but says hearing the completed Nothingness made him realise what he had missed.
According to Barbieri, ENDLESS CHAIN’s combination of “dark aggression and poignant emotion” immediately stood out, while their third album takes the band’s expressive songwriting to another level.
For ENDLESS CHAIN founder and guitarist Timo Mölsä, the signing represents the culmination of years of work.
“We’re incredibly excited to join the M-Theory Audio family,” Mölsä says. “Many years of dedicated and patient work have led us to this moment. We would like to sincerely thank Marco Barbieri and the entire M-Theory Audio team for believing in our band and our music. We can’t wait to share the new album with the world.”
“Fade To Nothingness” Offers A Heavy First Look
Mölsä describes “Fade To Nothingness” as one of the heaviest songs ENDLESS CHAIN have recorded, while maintaining the emotional and melodic character that defines the band.
“Although ‘Fade to Nothingness’ is one of the heaviest EC songs ever, there’s still something beautiful within it,” he says. “It’s a good representation of the upcoming album, and it was one of the first songs I wrote for the new album.”
The song explores the point where fighting against the past becomes impossible. Vocalist Aki Salonen says its meaning deliberately remains open to interpretation.
“The story behind the song is pretty complex,” Salonen explains. “It’s about that ‘darkest hour’ when you finally admit to yourself that things went too far a long time ago, and no amount of fighting is going to bring that past back.”
He adds that the song could relate to relationships, serious illness, death, or other personal experiences, leaving listeners to determine which perspective speaks to them.
That ambiguity is central to the track’s appeal. Rather than dictating a single interpretation, ENDLESS CHAIN leave room for listeners to bring their own experiences to the music.
From Personal Outlet To Finnish Metal Force
Founded by primary songwriter Timo Mölsä, ENDLESS CHAIN began as a deeply personal creative outlet before developing into an established presence within Finland’s metal scene.
The band’s sound is built around rich melodies, crushing guitar work, and atmospheric textures, bringing together the melancholy of gothic metal with the aggression and intensity of melodic death metal.
Following their debut album, Forthcoming Past, ENDLESS CHAIN established a stable recording and performance lineup featuring vocalist Aki Salonen, guitarist and primary songwriter Timo Mölsä, multi-instrumentalist Aleksanteri Kuosa, and drummer Samuli Mikkonen.
The band followed their 2021 debut with Agony in 2024, expanding their atmospheric approach with progressive elements and intricate gothic structures.
The album also highlighted the contrast between Ville Hovi’s soaring clean vocals and Salonen’s harsher growls, backed by Mölsä and Kuosa on guitars alongside drummer Samuli Mikkonen, known for his work with Korpiklaani.
Across its 10 tracks, Agony explored human struggle, resilience, and hope against a backdrop of inner turmoil, further establishing ENDLESS CHAIN’s emotionally driven approach to heavy music.
Critics Have Already Taken Notice
ENDLESS CHAIN’s previous work has attracted praise for its ability to combine atmosphere, melody, and heaviness without losing emotional impact.
“This is moody and Gothic Metal in the Anathema/late '90s-era Paradise Lost vein... moody and well-paced, packing a hell of a punch.”
— Musipedia of Metal
“Catchy melancholic melodies... passionate and full of emotion.”
— The Progressive Subway
With Nothingness, the band now have an opportunity to build on that foundation while reaching a wider international audience through their new partnership with M-Theory Audio.
Endless Chain Are:
Aki Salonen – Vocals (growls)
Ville Hovi – Vocals (clean)
Timo Mölsä – Guitar
Aleksanteri Kuosa – Guitar, Bass
Samuli Mikkonen – Drums
With “Fade To Nothingness” now setting the tone, Nothingness will reveal whether ENDLESS CHAIN can turn their distinctive combination of darkness, melody, and aggression into their defining record. For listeners discovering the band for the first time, the more interesting question may be what they find in that darkness — and what they bring to it themselves.
