The Bacarrudas are back with a spine-tingling treat just in time for spooky season. The band has announced their upcoming Halloween-themed double EP, releasing two new singles to give fans a taste of the eerie fun ahead.
Titled Bleed Out, Get Pushed off a Cliff, Sink to the Bottom of a Lake, and Play a Halloween Monster House Party! (also referred to as The Halloween Extended Player), The EP promises to deliver a collection of classic monster tales told from both sides of the pitchfork — the misunderstood monster and the torch-bearing townsfolk. As the band teases, perhaps we’re the real monsters after all.
Leaning heavily into cobwebbed organ tones and drenched-in-reverb guitars, The Bacarrudas channel the spirit of 1960s novelty hits and the atmospheric eeriness of Vincent Price films. The result feels like a cross between a frat rock party band and Bobby “Boris” Pickett’s ghoulish charm, keeping the camp horror spirit alive.
“Lady Frankenstein tells the story of Bride of Frankenstein from the monster’s perspective,” explains singer/guitarist Adam Rabuck. “The song goes from excitement to self-deprecation to a grand gesture and, ultimately, disappointment… much like our normal lives. The chorus even echoes a drunken tavern singalong from 18th-century Switzerland.”
The full EP will drop on October 3rd via Schuylkill Beat Records and Mom’s Basement Records, ensuring fans can soundtrack their Halloween season with the perfect blend of fright and fun.
